Large plant, rose umbels over thick oblong leaves, long inflated pods. Produces lavender to pink flowers in midsummer. One of the easiest and fastest to establish of the milkweeds and produces rhizomes as well as seeds. Monarchs lay their eggs on this plant. Formerly known as Common Milkweed. Attracts birds, butterflies, pollinators and hummingbirds.
