Red-Veined Dock Rumex sanguineus
Rumex sanguineus Red Veined Dock

A rosette of leaves distinctively marked with deep red or purple veins. It is grown mostly as a foliage plant or ornamental vegetable, but it also produces erect stems of tiny, star-shaped green flowers that turn reddish brown. Grow in full sun and moderately fertile soil. Fertilize annually.

The Aqua Garden is a select mixture of these essential varieties. Marginals add height to the garden while providing some shade and shelter to their aquatic neighbors. Each colorful combination will thrive with its roots submerged just below the waterline. Attracts butterflies.

Blooms late spring to early summer

Uses: wet meadows, water gardens, bogs, container
Sun to partial shade
Height: 24" to 36" tall
Growability: easy
